Facebook Live, 'Holocaust Heroines' with Lori Weintrob, Tuesday noon — On Tuesday, March 31 at 12 noon, log on for a Facebook Live conversation, "Heroines of the Holocaust," featuring Lori Weintrob, director of Wagner College's Holocaust Center, and Rokhl Kafrissen, Yiddish culture writer for Tablet magazine, followed by a live Q&A with viewers. During the Holocaust, more than 3,000 women fought back against the Nazis in ghettos, forced labor camps, concentration camps and partisan units. This talk will focus on female resistance fighters Vitka Kempner, one of the first partisan leaders to blow up a German ammunition train with a grenade, and Sara Ginaite, who smuggled weapons into the ghetto and fought in the forests.
