Students in Professor Jessica Clark's Introduction to Social Welfare Practice have to design a Social Action Project. This semester a group of students (Jacqueline Kaminsky '19, Laura Kyvik '19, Mikaela Pritchett '19, Paul Norden '21, Emil Matti '21) focused on the Opioid Crisis in Staten Island. They reached out to Congressman-elect Max Rose who has agreed to come to Wagner College on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 20TH at 7:30pm to speak about the Opioid Crisis facing our nation and the borough, and his plans to combat it while serving in congress. The Opioid Crisis was at the forefront of Max's campaign against incumbent Dan Donovan for the 2018 midterm elections. Rose will serve as the representative for New York's 11th congressional district which encompasses Staten Island and parts of Southern Brooklyn.
The event will take place in the Manzulli Boardroom in Foundation Hall and is open to the entire Wagner Community.
